A Web Map Service (WMS) is a standard protocol for serving georeferenced map images over the Internet that are generated by a map server using data from a spatial database.
To consume a Web Map Service you must have GIS software on your computer. Below are some freely downloadable GIS software package options. Please refer to vendor documentation on how to connect to Web Map Services as well as support for these applications.
